How I Deal With My Voices of Self-Doubt

Today I wanted to address something that comes up for all of us - how do we deal with voices of self-doubt?

So much of the time, I'll talk to a client who tells me she cannot move forwards with her projects because she has "stuff" to deal with first. This "stuff" is usually just fearful voices that edge out that voice of knowingness. The knowingness that says - "This IS good enough!"

So the projects wait until the fearful voices subside. But here's the thing - the fearful voices don't ever fully leave us - we have to learn how to deal with them, find the juiciness in them, and to move forwards anyway. In this video, I share 3 ways I deal with my own voices of self-doubt:

Lots of love to you!

1 Thing You NEED To Do To Become a Successful Healer

Hi ladies!

Do you ever compare yourself to people who inspire you - trying to model yourself after, or become more like them? I definitely have done this, and when I have, it has been really hard not only on my self-esteem, but also on my ability to be the healer that I came here to be.

In this video, I share with you 1 thing that is really important to practice as a budding healer, so you can stand in your own power, rather than someone else's.

May you honour how RADICALLY AWESOME you are, always,

Lots of love,

4 Rockstar Women I Follow for Spirituality + Business

Gratitude.

Gratitude.

I want to thank some women for being

the pillars of knowledge and wisdom

for me that they are.

I’d also love to share these women with you so you can benefit from them too! These next 4 women are ones who have taught me a lot about how to be true a light worker AND a business maven. They show me how to fuse my authenticity and deep desire to be of service in the world, with a mindset of action + strategy, that supports me financially, physically, and emotionally.

Basically, these women Have helped me

to understand how I can fuse

my spirituality with my business,

in a really big way.

And have them become one. Which is important for me, because I don’t necessarily see barriers in my life, like work/play/purpose/relationships. All are one at the end of the day.

I personally follow each of these women for different reasons. Here they are, with a note about why I follow each of them, and some resources for you to follow up on as well!

Read on my lovely stardust mermaid beings of love! ;)

1. Gabby Bernstein

Of course. Who else. This woman is more than a woman (As we all are). She is an amazing being who has come to this planet entirely to give healing and wake people up to the truth of their happiness.

I remember when I discovered Gabby - I was still in University at the time and at a Chapters bookstore. Her bright blue hard-covered book was sitting on the shelf. It was called ‘Spirit Junkie’. Here was a beautiful young woman who was rocking it in the world of spirituality and spiritual teaching! Here was deep inspiration. I remember thinking that it wasn’t just types like Wayne Dyer who could ‘make it’ in that world. You didn’t have to have tons of life experience and be older, to know you had wisdom to give.

Something opened in me that day, and I quickly dived into Gabby’s world via the internet over the next few weeks. I downloaded her meditation albums at that time as well - and have listened to one of Gabby’s Meditations almost every day for 4 years. She is with me constantly! And taught me so much just through being a leader and a guide into my own inner worlds and inner power.

Gabby has recently (OK well not too recently) started teaching directly to budding coaches, healers, and teachers. She runs a weekend long Spirit Junkie Masterclass on how to rock it as a spiritual teacher, but you can find her free 90 minute-long videos on the topic, here and here.

2. Erika Sheffer

Erika is fairly new to me (I found her a couple of months ago), yet she has quickly ignited a fire in my world that has already produced some serious ripples! Erika is a business coach. She talks marketing. Social Media. New Ideas. How to make money. But she does it all in a way that’s super inspiring, super easy to relate to, super easy to understand - but also very specific. I took Marie Forleo’s B-School and honestly I feel like I’ve learned more through Erika HAHA. Not because Marie is not amazing (because she IS) - but purely because I relate to Erika’s style of teaching more. Her quirky personality and fierce feline demeanour is also pretty dope too. ;) She makes me feel like I CAN DO IT!

Erika will gets my business fires going. She teaches + shares most often through Periscope (you can catch up with her videos here), or on her private Facebook group. When you connect with her, you’ll hear from her pretty much everyday, which is really cool. She is always coming out with new content.

3. Nisha Moodley

Ohhh hey Nisha Moodley!!! What a goddess. OK, for those of you who don’t know her, Nisha is a coach for ambitious female entrepreneurs. She was a health coach previous to that. But the thing about Nisha, is she doesn’t really talk specific business much of the time. She’s deepened into her message. She’s actually very focused on our lifestyles, and how we approach our lives. She’s also a big proponent of sisterhood, and is actively involved in co-creating a global movement of young empowered women who love one another.

Nisha has developed into her woman, her fullness, her juiciness. It feels luxurious to walk the journey with her. :)

Nisha sends e-mails often, blog posts, poems, and more, which you can sign up for here. You can also creep her Instagram and see what I’m talking about for yourself. Swoon. ;) :D

4. Doreen Virtue

Ahhh. The angel goddess herself. The one who is in almost all of your houses, I’m sure! (Oracle cards anyone?)

Doreen is the go-to for angels (in my opinion anyway) and is such a beautiful soul. You can tell that even though she has millions of followers and has reached such a high level of “success” - she really just sees us all as her equals and knows that we all came here to do important work. She shows us how to do that important work even better.

I love seeing Doreen’s angel card readings pull up on my Instagram feed. I love her books that have taught me so much about angels. I love reading her cards and applying them to my business, my work, my purpose, and all areas of my life! I love HER! She reminds me to always come back to what it’s all about. True healing, and reminding others of how amazing they are.

Much love my sisters! If you have any women (or men for that matter) that you LOVE and find inspire you in both areas of business and spirituality, post them below!  I’d love to hear!

xo Beth

3 Steps to Becoming the Healer You Are

In my work, I constantly am connecting with young women who just want to be of service. Us young, awakened women are rather intelligent, and emotionally and spiritually in tune.

We know better than to chase what the rest of the world seems to be enthralled by. Yes, lots of money would be nice. A flawless complexion, yeah that could be pretty cool, but not necessary. Looking good in the eyes of your peers? Fleeting.

Us awakened women are looking for more. Much more.

We are looking for the reason why we are here. On planet earth. And though we can get caught up with the rest of the world, ultimately, we always come back to that place - How can I be of service? Why am I here? How can I give my gifts to the world?

But much of the time, we are a little bit perplexed on how to give what we’ve got to the world. We can either lack confidence, or even direction. Many of my clients really want to feel like they are on the right path, but they have no idea what that path is.

And so I will break it down for you, easy peasy, by giving you 3 steps to bring your life purpose into your life in a very significant way. It is very possible to live life in a way that you know you are doing what you came here to do. Here’s how to access that feeling:

1. Ask for Clear Guidance

Of course. You knew it was coming. Ask for help ya’ll! If you’re confused about what your gifts are, and how you can be of most service, then ASK! Ask Spirit, your angels, the faeries, Kali, Buddha, Jesus, whoever you vibe with most - for help! This can be done as easily as saying something like “Angels, I need your help. Please guide me to understand what my gifts are and how I can best use them. Please answer me clearly, in a way I can easily understand! Thank you!”

The trick with this is to ask everyday, many times a day, if you can. For whatever reason, amping up how often you ask, usually amps up the results you get back.

So make it your practice to ask for clear guidance every single day. This is something I do about 30-50 times a day. I ask my body what it wants to eat, I ask the angels what they want me to do, I ask like a crazy person. (Because I am a crazy person. And I like it :D)

2. Listen

These steps are super simple, yes I am aware. But you wouldn’t believe how many people come to me for guidance that are simply not taking the time to listen to their own inner selves! Many many. And I love you all. But please my sweet ones, carve out some time to meditate or to be in nature all on your own. You will discover an entire world of knowledge and wisdom before you.

Once you have asked, your signs can come in many ways. Through people, through songs, through synchronicities. So please listen to what happens in your daily life. Pay attention. To the small things, you may have missed before.

When you make time to get quiet, listen to a guided meditation, hug a tree, or whatever else embodies the energy of listening for you - you are going to get answers.

These answers may not strike you in the exact moment. Meaning, you might not receive your answer through shouting EUREKA deep in the forest as your exact life purpose comes to you in a shiny sparkly vision. (Or you may, who knows)

The answers might come to you later, after meditation. When we’re in meditation we’re allowing Source to enter deep into our subconscious mind, and sometimes we don’t actually receive the transmission until it comes out organically later on that day or week.

With this step, consistency is important as well. I suggest meditating at least 3x a week. I personally meditate every day, at least once. Download some guided meditations. They’ll help a lot and make it more fun. I love Gabby Bernstein's. I’m also coming out with my own meditation album within the next few weeks. FINALLY! I’ll let you know when it’s coming out if you sign up with your e-mail below. When you do that, I'll also send you a few meditations to get your started.

3. Act on the Guidance You Receive

OK OK I know. These steps are just so simple. And you’ve probably heard them before. But that’s because they work! I promise if you follow the guidance of ASKING, LISTENING, and ACTING, you will be in the experience of being the healer, the teacher, or the creator that you want to be, sooner than you could have imagined.

This step involves you acting on the inner guidance that came when you listened. Now to be clear, the guidance may not be something you can see will help your dreams come true. Act on it anyway.

Ex. You may want to be an energy healer, and your inner guidance tells you to sign up for an ecstatic dance workshop. Or to go to your local cafe that morning. Or to call a friend you haven’t heard from in a while.

All of these bits are parts of your path, parts of your process. You could completely open up your heart chakra in that workshop, and be a more powerful healer because of it. You could see a poster at that cafe for a women’s circle that will be a game changer for you. That friend might be in need of an energy boost, which you can offer to her as a gift, while getting practice for your expression of healing.

You never know! Just follow the guidance, and see what happens! If you need help understanding what your inner guidance is saying, follow these 2 rules of thumb: 1) Inner guidance feels good, no matter what. 2) Inner guidance is repetitive, so if you miss a sign, don't worry, it will come back!

As with the ones above, this step needs consistency. If you ask, listen, and act on your inner guidance every day for a week, your life will be changed. Every day for 3 months, and you will have expanded deeply. Every day for a year and you will be a powerful healer and guide for those who you wish to touch.

Women Who Inspire // Ashley Dawn of Thirsty Soul

I'm very fortunate to say I know a lot of inspiring women. Some of them I've forged relationships with online, yet many of them I've met in person, through experiencing the local arts + conscious communities in many different places.

I met Ashley, a holistic health coach and founder of Thirsty Soul, through my amazing community in Calgary - and at the time, she had just opened up a raw + organic juice bar with a  girlfriend in a downtown yoga studio. Despite my relocation to Vancouver Island, we have kept in touch, and I have enjoyed following her journey both online and off!

A few months ago, Ashley invited me to teach at her upcoming Revive & Thrive Retreat in Bali. After consulting with my inner guide (as I had been also asked to teach at a retreat in California around that time as well) - it was clear that this was the right move for me!

Read on to learn more about Ashley, gain some insight from her, and learn more about the retreat in Bali this January! You are invited to join us (it will be my first time there, woohoo!), and you can find out all about it here!

I know your career has taken a very holistic + unique approach - tell me a little bit about what you do!

Yes! In the last 6 years I definitely realized that being healthy is not just about eating a clean diet. To feel empowered in life - emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual elements need to be harmonious with one another. But, I do believe self - transformation begins with eating a joyful and conscious diet.

How did you get into it? Tell me about your story.

I use to eat a poor malnourished diet, and I suffered from migraines, being overweight, and not having any dreams or goals in my life. I realized that I was responsible for my health and wellbeing, and if I wanted things to change, then I needed to be the one to do it. So, I began educating myself on nutrition, studied, and began experimenting with different diets and ways of eating to learn what was best for me. Through my change in diet, I didn’t suffer from migraines any more. I had more energy, and I actually began to make goals and intentions for my life. By shifting what I consumed physically and mentally, it shifted the way I felt about myself, and I began living a beautiful life. I started to actually see and feel the beauty that life has to offer. Magic began to happen. I want people to experience the magic.

What would your advice be for a woman who is interested in becoming a nutritionist or healer, but doesn't know where to start?

If I could offer some guidance I would say: The best teachers and healers are the ones who have experienced what they are teaching. Personally, I can connect with healers and teachers wholeheartedly when they can empathize with you - So go back through your life story, and explore an event in your life that really shook you up, or created a significant shift in your life, and feel into it to see if there is any passion to share that story with others, to help others, and be of service.

What are your top 3 detoxifying foods?

The 3 most detoxifying foods that I am using right now: (these foods are always changing depending on what I am experiencing)

  • Grape Seed Extract
  • Baking Soda
  • Apple Cider Vinegar

What's something a woman can do right now, to add more energy to her life?

There are so many options. Right Take a deep INHALE , fill up your lungs as far as they can expand, and exhale through your nose.  Repeat 3 times - and as you breathe in say something you are grateful for

3 Steps for Making Your Big Dreams a Reality // Video

Hi lovebugs!

I have a question for you... How often do you let yourself dream big? I mean, really BIG!

If you're like most people, your daydreams consist of things your mind can work it's way around - 'realistic' goals, so to speak.

Yet that's why most people stay small - they keep themselves there!

But I know you're not like most people. (Seriously, you ladies I work with are incredible) I know you're meant for big things, and in this new video, I'll show you how to get to those big things in a 3 step process!

I also share a big dream of mine that's coming into fruition!

Watch below to find out what that dream is!

Beth Katherine // How She Started Her Healing Business

This post is the final post in the 'How She Started Her Healing Business' series, where 7 inspiring young entrepreneurs share the story of how they created their holistic careers - giving you inspiration, advice, and a window into how you can do it too!

Today's post comes from... Me, Beth Katherine! I'm an intuitive coach for spiritual young women who desire to give their gifts to the world. I work with Spirit Guides + Angels in my sessions, as well as blog, create coaching videos, and deliver workshops to serve my really incredible audience.

When I started this blog tour, I had one thing in mind - there are so many resources out there for people who have already started their own businesses. This marketing expert, and that social media consultant - but what about the information for those who haven't started, at all?

Where is the inspiration and guidance for those of you who get freaked out by the business mumbo jumbo - and just want to start a healing career in an organic way?

So I created this blog tour, entitled, How She Started Her Healing Business, for just that reason. There are too many women out there with the most profound gifts, that aren't using them like they could be. You are all meant for big things, bold things, powerful things. But how can you unleash them into the world? Getting inspired by others who have already done it is a great first step!

I chose to write my own post, the last post in the Blog Tour, in an interview format style. Many of you have read different versions of the story of how I started (Check out this blog post, and this page, if you haven't) - So I thought it would be fun to answer specific questions about my journey.

I hope you enjoy this post, and more importantly, I hope that this Blog Tour has inspired you to realize that everyone's journey is different, everyone's gifts are different, and it's not about the destination - it's simply about the choice to follow the calling of your soul!

How did you get started in full-time entrepreneurship? Did you start with a job and then transition?

I started planning my business when I was in my last semester of University (studying for a Finance degree). At that point, it was a non-profit that I was planning, that focused on hosting events and getting different speakers to come talk about various spiritual topics, while also selling products like crystal necklaces, and the like. (I totally forget how the non-profit part of it came into play, sorry haha.) I submitted my plan to a Business Plan competition that my school ran, and I received feedback that my idea was not really feasible as there were already spiritual mentors like Wayne Dyer speaking on PBS, so why would people want to come out to events? Also, making a website was very expensive, where was I going to get the money?

It was at that point that I realized - 'Ok, I've got to leave this mainstream way of thinking! These people don't get me, or my project!' (Enter teenage angst - I am so mizaundastood!!!) - and I realized if I was really going to do this, I was just going to have to leave other people's voices of doubt behind, and jump in.

I created my own website virtually for free (more on that in a bit), changed my plan around to better suit my skills + desires, and upon graduating University, asked my Grandfather for a $5000 loan so I could focus on starting up my business without having to work another job, at least for the first few months.

I didn't really intend to be full-time right away, but that's just what happened.

Even though I applied for several jobs a few months after starting my business, I didn't get any of them (which was weird since I'd gotten every job I'd ever applied for minus 1 before that!) - but you know what, I think I was just subconsciously sending out the message - don't hire me! I don't actually want to take orders anymore! I want to be my own boss and do this healing thang!

So somehow I did it. I created crystal necklaces, and did a bit of meditation coaching - I usually made enough to just get by, and I had a fantastic time doing it. I didn't feel like I was missing out because I wasn't making as much as my friends, I was so satisfied and thrilled by my 'work', I just kept going and going!

What were the first products + services you offered? How did you decide on them?

Oh my goodness. This is a funny question. At the start, I honestly just threw out anything and everything. I had so many ideas, I didn't know how to filter them, or what to focus on. Some of them came to me in meditation, and some of them I just said - 'Oh this would be cool, maybe I'll try this!'

Here is the list of ever product or service that I offered when I started:

  • Crystal necklaces
  • Custom crystal necklaces
  • Meditation coaching
  • Business consulting
  • Meditation space creating (interior design for your sacred space)

And there are probably more that I now forget. I had no takers for the business consulting or the meditation space creating. I had 2 clients sign up for meditation coaching (1 of whom is still a regular client - how cool!) - yet I had lots of people want crystal necklaces, once I started selling them at markets, and putting pictures of my creations on Facebook. Interestingly enough, Krista, who is also featured in this series, was the first person ever to sign up for a custom crystal necklace - something that later became the backbone of my business.

How did you create your website?

Firstly - let me just say that I started using Photoshop and teaching myself HTML coding when I was around 14, because I was a really cool person and was a part of a Hilary Duff forum online, and had a lot of internet friends and loved to spend my time online with them! I taught myself photoshop and started creating 'signatures' for other people to use, using photos they gave me and making them into pretty looking things for the end of their posts and comments.

So I did have some computer coding experience, and a background in photoshop.

Then in University, I created my first blog called Samsara (check it out here), and taught myself more in terms of how to create nice looking webpages. So when I was ready to create my own website, I already had some confidence in the computer department.

I used an online software called Wix, which I would recommend, along with the platform I now use called Squarespace. I hired out the logo and header design to my friend Kai, and started taking some fun pictures in my basement with my friend Katie. Once I had the pictures and the logo, I plugged it all into Wix. (I've included a picture of one of the first drafts of my website below) Wix allows you to create a website from scratch or from a template, and honestly, you don't really need much computer experience at all to get the hang of it. It's very intuitive. It's just my background with computer work helped me to be more confident and play more.

After that, you just need to pay for it to be hosted (about $10-$20 a month) - and you're off!

Did you ever plan an event or host a workshop that was a total flop?

Yes and no. I've hosted events that had attendance rates much lower than I expected - yes - but I have a fairly strong commitment to just serving people, so in my opinion, a flop would be an event where I was not in the mindset of service.

What is your North Star? Meaning - when life gets crazy and disorganized - what keeps you focused?

Ohh so many things - they mostly all revolve around feeling the deep pain that the much of the world and the animals I love so dearly are in - and then finding the motivation and knowingness that I can be a part of changing it.

Everything that I've done started out when I became intensely interested in environmentalism, while still in University.

Through my research, I discovered so many things going on in this world, to the animals, and the plant kingdom that drove a spear through my heart. (ie. factory farming, animal testing, deforestation, ocean dead zones, etc)

Shortly after this time, I realized that the solution to theses issues was not to be found in addressing all of these problems individually - rather the root of the issue lies in human consciousness. And so, I got to work in addressing how we can all be more loving, more intuitive, and more aligned with our truths. Young women were specifically the people I gravitated to spreading this message to, as I felt I could relate the most to them.

I do what I do, to create a more beautiful, more natural, more loving earth for all beings, now, and in the future. I envision lots of self-sufficient intentional communities, places with cob homes and treehouses in nature, where best friends live side by side, grow food together, raise children together, and have a deep connection with Mama Gaia.

That is my motivation in the grand sense. And myself, along with thousands, maybe even millions of other lightworkers, are helping to usher that, or a similar change in!

Is there any advice you would give to a young woman whose in the beginning stages of starting her healing business?

Yes, lots! And I have a free video training series coming out in a few weeks with a step-by-step process on how to start. The first step in the series, as well as the step I'd like to mention now - is get in touch with the why.

What is your greater motivation?

I know that you, like me, have probably woken up to the change you'd like to see on this planet. So now that you've got your eyes open - what would you like to create, both for yourself, and for the world?

Have a clear understanding of why you're starting, and why it's important. Get really deep with it (as you read above, mine has stemmed from my love of the environment) - and let that guide you.

The entrepreneurial process is intense. It's awesome - like really awesome - but it comes with it's challenges and it's roadblocks. If you have a deep, intrinsic motivation, you'll be able to bust through them just fine.

If you're interested in experiencing this free video training series (4 short videos, that give you instructions, 1 practical step at a time, on how you can go from nothing at all - to a webpage with products and services offered) - please sign up with your name and email below! I'll send them to you within the next few weeks!
