The She Has Returned

Feeling the fire in my belly, 

As She visits me,

She wants no promises, 

And nothing to be done,

She simply wants to roar,

About the battles yet to be won,

In a day and age, so many women think they are free,

They still are slaves, to what we call, patriarchy.

No more doing doing doing, all the fucking time,

Let us stop, and just be, 

Trusting in the divine, 

I want you to know that I get what you want,

But it won't come from pushing or shoving,

It won't come from hustling or bustling,

And it won't come from feeding, 

Any more energy, 

To that unsatisfied bull, 

That lies rampant and crazy,

At the heart of our current system.

What you want... 

Ah dear ones, what you want...

It will come from the unknown of the night, 

The willingness to just Be, 

With your feelings, 

With the darkness, 

All of it.

It will come when you get clear, 

On what you really want, 

And let it come to you, sweet ones.

Let it come to you, let it come.

It is coming.

For you are a gem, 

In eternity,

And your striving, 

Comes from a belief, from a place...

That tells you, you're not. 

So let us stop striving,

And let us trust that the Universe

2 AHA Moments From My Week

The time since the lunar eclipse + blood moon for me (ie. the last 1.5 weeks) has been really eye opening for me.

I’m always learning, and I’m always growing, but I feel the last little bit has been full of more intense realizations, that I’d love to share with you. 

From experiencing some rockiness in some of my relationships, to getting a fever that’s had me resting + sweating in bed for a few days - there have been moments that have challenged me. 

But it’s been these moments that have forced me to slow down and ask the question: “What’s really going on here?” and as always - “How have I created this? What do I want to see + expereince instead?”

I truly believe that we are the co-creators of our reality, and what shows up in our lives, is simply a reflection of what’s going on internally.

Here are 2 aha moments I’ve had in the last week, that have really helped to open up some new pathways for me. I hope they will serve you too.

1) Hearing Wayne Dyer say “There are no justified resentments”

As I lay in bed and listening to yet another of Wayne’s PBS lectures (I’ve been loving them lately) - I had a big moment. As Wayne told the audience, including myself, that there were no justified resentments, I thought of all the people I was still holding anger or judgement towards. Even though I’ve been on a spiritual path for a number of years, and love has been my main goal, I still hold resentments - of course, I am human! But some of them, to me, were justified. “Well I’m bitter towards this person because she’s made it clear she doesn’t accept me or my choices.” - “I’m angry towards this person because I feel I’ve suffered energetic abuse from them.”

Well I have some news for myself - Get Over It. How do you think you are going to be the best lightworker you can be, if you’re still carrying judgment for your fellow brothers and sisters - who are really just trying to do their best?

My heart goes out to all of you who have suffered much worse abuse than I - whether that be physical, sexual, etc - what an intense idea. To forgive and to release resentment towards your abuser. But that is exactly what we are called to do. 

As Wayne says - no body ever died from a snake bite. (What? You may be thinking, read on…) People die from the venom that seeps into their bloodstream AFTER the snake has bitten.

2) Hearing and Feeling Nisha Moodley talk about being with pain

Many of you, like me, are intrinsically drawn to being healers. We want to help, we want to hold, we want to love, we want to nurture, we want to listen, we want to heal. 

This morning, I couldn’t sleep. It was about 5:30am and I had already gone through way too many Ellen videos. I synchronistically was guided to an interview between Nisha Moodley and Elayne Kalila Doughty - two incredible women that are walking the path of the priestess, the path of the Soul.

Nisha spoke of being with her pain. “How can I hold the space for others in their pain, if I can’t be with my own?” Fair point. And then she said something that really got to me. I’m paraphrasing, but still using quote marks. I hope that’s all good :D “If I can’t be with my own pain, then someone who is experiencing deep pain is going to be uncomfortable around me.”

Boom. How’s that for a truth bomb?

As lightworkers, we can have the tendency to sugar-coat things, because we wan’t it to be all good. But what if we learned that even in the dark places - it’s all good?

And so, this morning, in the dark hours, I lay with my pain.

My root chakra was really hurting and I felt so out of sorts, but I breathed into it, and surrendered to it… eventually falling into a sleep where I encountered both Nisha and Elayne in the dream land. Magical stuff this path is. 

I’m not going to pretend that from this point on I’ll ALWAYS choose to be with my pain. Distractions are easy and everywhere. That youtube video. That joint. That thought pattern. Those conversations that don’t really have a point. Oh yeah. I go there. To all of those places. 

But it’s about progress, not perfection. I know that if I can choose to BE WITH my pain a little more frequently, a little more regularly, with a little more surrender, I’ll make great strides. 

Because at this point on my path, I’ve realized that when we can BE WITH something like pain, it dissolves and reveals the greater wisdom beneath. By being with it, and breathing into it, step by step, we are releasing the chains, and opening up to freedom - the freedom of not being scared of our darkness.

How I Deal With My Voices of Self-Doubt

Today I wanted to address something that comes up for all of us - how do we deal with voices of self-doubt?

So much of the time, I'll talk to a client who tells me she cannot move forwards with her projects because she has "stuff" to deal with first. This "stuff" is usually just fearful voices that edge out that voice of knowingness. The knowingness that says - "This IS good enough!"

So the projects wait until the fearful voices subside. But here's the thing - the fearful voices don't ever fully leave us - we have to learn how to deal with them, find the juiciness in them, and to move forwards anyway. In this video, I share 3 ways I deal with my own voices of self-doubt:

A New Moon in Virgo Meditation

Hey babes!

It's the New Moon in Virgo AND a solar eclipse. This is a powerful time, and we have a great opportunity to connect in right now, and receive some guidance. Virgo is all about the earth, details, and using our physical energy to create harmony, and bring about our goals.

4 Rockstar Women I Follow for Spirituality + Business

I want to thank some women for being

the pillars of knowledge and wisdom

for me that they are.

I’d also love to share these women with you so you can benefit from them too! These next 4 women are ones who have taught me a lot about how to be true a light worker AND a business maven. They show me how to fuse my authenticity and deep desire to be of service in the world, with a mindset of action + strategy, that supports me financially, physically, and emotionally.

Basically, these women Have helped me

to understand how I can fuse

my spirituality with my business,

in a really big way.

And have them become one. Which is important for me, because I don’t necessarily see barriers in my life, like work/play/purpose/relationships. All are one at the end of the day.

1. Gabby Bernstein

Of course. Who else. This woman is more than a woman (As we all are). She is an amazing being who has come to this planet entirely to give healing and wake people up to the truth of their happiness.

I remember when I discovered Gabby - I was still in University at the time and at a Chapters bookstore. Her bright blue hard-covered book was sitting on the shelf. It was called ‘Spirit Junkie’. Here was a beautiful young woman who was rocking it in the world of spirituality and spiritual teaching! Here was deep inspiration. I remember thinking that it wasn’t just types like Wayne Dyer who could ‘make it’ in that world. You didn’t have to have tons of life experience and be older, to know you had wisdom to give.

Something opened in me that day, and I quickly dived into Gabby’s world via the internet over the next few weeks. I downloaded her meditation albums at that time as well - and have listened to one of Gabby’s Meditations almost every day for 4 years. She is with me constantly! And taught me so much just through being a leader and a guide into my own inner worlds and inner power. 

Gabby has recently (OK well not too recently) started teaching directly to budding coaches, healers, and teachers. She runs a weekend long Spirit Junkie Masterclass on how to rock it as a spiritual teacher, but you can find her free 90 minute-long videos on the topic, here and here.

2. Erika Sheffer

Erika is fairly new to me (I found her a couple of months ago), yet she has quickly ignited a fire in my world that has already produced some serious ripples! Erika is a business coach. She talks marketing. Social Media. New Ideas. How to make money. But she does it all in a way that’s super inspiring, super easy to relate to, super easy to understand - but also very specific. I took Marie Forleo’s B-School and honestly I feel like I’ve learned more through Erika HAHA. Not because Marie is not amazing (because she IS) - but purely because I relate to Erika’s style of teaching more. Her quirky personality and fierce feline demeanour is also pretty dope too. ;) She makes me feel like I CAN DO IT!

Erika will gets my business fires going. She teaches + shares most often through Periscope (you can catch up with her videos here), or on her private Facebook group. When you connect with her, you’ll hear from her pretty much everyday, which is really cool. She is always coming out with new content.

3. Nisha Moodley

Ohhh hey Nisha Moodley!!! What a goddess. OK, for those of you who don’t know her, Nisha is a coach for ambitious female entrepreneurs. She was a health coach previous to that. But the thing about Nisha, is she doesn’t really talk specific business much of the time. She’s deepened into her message. She’s actually very focused on our lifestyles, and how we approach our lives. She’s also a big proponent of sisterhood, and is actively involved in co-creating a global movement of young empowered women who love one another. 

Nisha has developed into her woman, her fullness, her juiciness. It feels luxurious to walk the journey with her. :)

4. Doreen Virtue

Ahhh. The angel goddess herself. The one who is in almost all of your houses, I’m sure! (Oracle cards anyone?) 

Doreen is the go-to for angels (in my opinion anyway) and is such a beautiful soul. You can tell that even though she has millions of followers and has reached such a high level of “success” - she really just sees us all as her equals and knows that we all came here to do important work. She shows us how to do that important work even better.

I love seeing Doreen’s angel card readings pull up on my Instagram feed. I love her books that have taught me so much about angels. I love reading her cards and applying them to my business, my work, my purpose, and all areas of my life! I love HER! She reminds me to always come back to what it’s all about. True healing, and reminding others of how amazing they are.
