A Meditation with Archangel Michael to Clear Your Energy Field

Here is a short meditation / prayer that you can use anytime you feel like your energy field is bogged down.

Often, we end up absorbing frequencies from other people that may not be serving us. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s just that our fields aren’t designed to process other people’s ‘stuff’. This meditation will help you to release your field of it, and keep you nice and clear :)

If you’ve never worked with Archangel Michael before, a few words:

Michael is an energy.

He is not really a he, he’s an it, but we tend to use the name and the masculine article to be able to relate to him more. Nor does he necessarily look like a human with wings. Again, that’s simply a human projection in an attempt to understand a very metaphysical and powerful energy. Which, mind you, is totally fine. You can’t go wrong with the angels. They are unconditional beings of love, they just want you to call upon them. How you see or understand them is up to you, and unique to you on your journey.

Say this aloud, while following the prompts of visualization in brackets:

Archangel Michael, I ask you to come to me now.

(See Archangel Michael coming to you, whether as a ball of bright blue/indigo light, as an angel with wings, or any other form you’d like. I usually just see ‘him’ as bright blue light)

I ask that you please clear and cleanse me of any and all energy that is not serving my highest good now. My intention is to be a pure channel for love and light in this world, and I need your help to make sure my energy body is as open as it can be to Source energy.

Thank you for clearing away all attachments to fear or drama that may be surrounding me now. I ask that your bright blue light infiltrate my energy field. I am open to your healing, now, and in all past, present, and future situations.

(Now see the crown of your head open up to a pillar of radiant gold or white light)

I am fully and completely connected to the divine now. All is one. Nothing can hurt me.

(See this white or gold light completely cover your body, inside and out)

We are one. I am one. Our interconnectedness keeps us alive.

Thank you.

To do a short form of this meditation when you’re out and about, simply say (This is what I do several times a day) :

“Archangel Michael, thank you for clearing and cleansing me of any and all energy that does not serve my highest and best” - While visualizing bright blue light around you!

8 Practical Tips to Start Your Own Blog

1. Decide on a platform

There are lots of platforms out there for your blog, but my favourite is still www.blogger.com. It’s google’s interface, and is really quite simple to use. Other popular platforms are www.wordpress.com and www.tumblr.com

2. Create a space you love to write in.

When you first sign up for a blog, with say, blogger, you’re given a simple, straightforward template to work with. But to be honest, the aesthetic of it isn’t really very inspiring, and you probably won’t be as stoked to write as you could be if your blog really reflected you, your energy, and your flava! Here are your options:

  • DIY it. This is how I learned. I googled everything. ‘How to add an image with HTML’, ‘How to remove the blogger bar’, etc etc etc. To be fair, I started learning basic HTML when I was 14, so I was ahead of the game. This route takes a long time, but for those of you who like to learn, and do things your own way, this might be for you. The plus is that once you teach yourself basic computer lingo, you can do it for other people too! -  Here's a great resource for you DIYers.

  • Hire a designer/coder to create a custom spot for you. For a simple blog design, you’re looking at around $150 - $500 depending on who you work with. This is the way to go if you’re serious about writing, and hope to go professional with your work. The plus to this is you get exactly what you want. For example, I just designed a blog for my client, Carlee. I turned her visions of flowers, oranges, pinks, turquoises, and her distinctly feminine + juicy essence into a design. You can see it here. In my opinion, the design fits her like a glove, and I know it's made a difference in how inspired she feels to create.  -  Here's a great resource to find designers ( I usually only take on design projects for longtime clients + friends )

  • Purchase a ready made template. And some of them are free. (Like on this site) This means that you will get something called a CSS template. All you have to do is install it to your account, and the simple template is replaced by something much prettier. If you’re just starting off in the blog world, I would recommend this out of all the options as the way to go. Once you get clearer on your voice, your message, and where you’d like to go with your blog, you can invest more time and money into it.  -  Here are a ton of premade blog templates for you to choose from!

3. Get inspired by other bloggers.

Everyone writes differently, and there are multiple ways to outline your posts. For example, when I first started writing, I was really inspired by Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere. I loved the simplicity of her posts (usually only a paragraph long), and her use of photography. That inspiration served as a launching pad for my writing, and while I no longer use that template to create, it served as a great start to play around with how I liked to create my posts.

4. Observe when it feels best to write.

For me, I find writing comes most easily in the morning, when I’m full of energy, and it’s light outside. This doesn’t always mean that’s when I write (in fact, right now I’m pretty mellow and it’s dark outside!) - but I do know that that’s when it flows the best. Work around that.

5. Try different things.

This is all about playing. I’ve written about everything from criticism of the justifications for the Alberta Oilsands, to my feelings after being broken up with, to how to make raw bagels. Give yourself permission to play around, it takes a while to find your voice, and to know what feels best to write about. A tip on deciding what you’re going to write is to sit down at your computer (or journal) - and ask yourself “What would feel amazing to write about right now? What am I most excited about expressing?”

6. Do it because it feels good.

Why are you writing a blog? There could be an enormous amount of reasons. You want to teach. You just need somewhere to get your thoughts out. You love cooking and want to share your recipes. You’re going traveling and want to share your stories with loved ones. But at the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is that what you write feels GOOD to write. This is similar to the what I said above. “What would feel amazing to write about?” Write from a place of passion, (ie. Wow, that casserole was amazing today, I want to write about it!) not a place of ‘shoulds’ (ie. I should write about meditating because it’s in line with the spiritual vibe of the site.)

7. Photography is an eye catcher.

Having great photos that resonate with your writing is key. Photos instantly draw someone to your posts in a way that just won’t happen if all they see is words. {Ironically, this post has the least photogrphy in recent memory! Harhar} For most of my blogging, I’ve used only photography that I’ve taken, because I didn’t think it was fair to use someone else’s work. But I’ve actually changed my mind. There are so many amazing photos and pieces of art out there, that are simply begging to be shared! I decided I don’t have to do it all. Now, I credit whenever I can track down the source of the picture, and am just grateful there are so many creative humans on this planet. ( I get most of the photos I currently use on Pinterest)

8. Share your work!

We all have doubts. Thats just how it is. Occasionally thoughts like  ‘What if the post isn’t good enough?’ ‘What if it offends somebody?’ ‘What if they think I’m crazy?’ might pop up, especially when you’re new to blogging and sharing your work. I’m going to be blunt here. You just gotta get over it. Haha! Just rip the bandaid off and share your soul work people! Be present with the fears that come up, use them as tools to grow, and get sharing your unique, beautiful voice. You are never going to please everybody.

It’s also important to keep the Law of Attraction in mind. Sometimes, some of my clients will say - but anyone will be able to see my work! Let’s be serious. Joe Blow on Wall Street who only cares about the dolla billz probably isn’t going to click on your post entitled ‘Why Meditating with Your Friends Might Bring you Closer!’. a) His vibration isn’t in alignment, so he won’t be drawn to the post. And b) That’s not what he’s interested in. 9 times our of 10, the people clicking on your article will actually be super interested in what you have to say.

Do you have a friend that would benefit from this information? Make sure to share it with her!

First Ever: My 3 Month Mentoring Program

In the last couple years, but especially in the last 6 or so months, I've really fallen in love with coaching. Now, coaching doesn't really seem like the right word for it. But we work with the words we have.

My process as I work with young women of all walks of life, is to skype with them for usually about an hour. (Or sit down for a tea if were in person!)

a3.jpg

We end up having really heartfelt, soul enriching, and empowering conversations that leave both of us glowing.

I rarely walk away from a session feeling anything less than pure, glowing love in my heart.

It's an amazing, amazing experience to connect with a 'stranger' - and have them open up to you. Tell you things they rarely speak of. Ask them questions that provoke them to think in a way they've never thought before. So often we are starved for meaningful, deep conversation in this day and age. And I have been blessed to be in a position that lets me have these types of interactions all the time.

There is another part to the magic though, which really explains why the sessions are always so life enhancing.

I work with angels and spirit guides, and I channel their information from the ethers, through my voice, into the conversation, in a way that you wouldn't know it's not just 'me' talking.

However, If you've ever had a conversation with me personally, and then you have a session with me, you'll be able to tell that something changes. My voice changes, my tone, my demeanour. The way I describe things becomes clearer, more powerful, and even more loving. Now I like to think that overall I'm a pretty clear, powerful, loving laday, but I have to admit - angels and spirit guides can one up me ;) They are the ultimate love beings.

So, without further ado, I'd like to offer you a program that will allow you to immerse yourself in the wisdom of your spirit guides + angels, and the power of regular, seriously deep, and exciting conversations. This program will also allow you to feel incredibly heard and seen. You will be a priority in my life, and I will take it seriously and beautifully.

A 3 Month Mentoring for Up and Coming Spiritual Sistas

First off, I must say: Mentoring does not mean one person is in a position of power, and the other isn't. A true mentor is keenly aware that they are both the teacher AND the student. Humble. They see the truth and the beauty of those they work with, and are inspired by their grace and vulnerability.

a4.jpg

If we are mentoring together, it is a collaboration - a merging of equals.

What mentoring does mean is that the mentor has been through the same challenges, and maybe even some of the same opportunities, that the mentee in question is experiencing. And she's made it out to the other side. With a bird's eye view, she can relate to you compassionately and deeply, while being able to help you to see where you've been listening to the fearful voices that may be holding you back.

She acts as a cheerleader and a guide.

Don't feel like you have people to really support you on your spiritual path? She's got you. Do you feel like you have grand visions + dreams for yourself, but need help with the next steps? No worries - she's been there. She'll hold your hand through it, not to do the work for you, but to be a pillar of inspiration, guidance, and even, safety. (You got this ;))

She knows when to talk, and when to listen and hold space. She loves you, because she sees you. And with that love, acceptance, and encouragement, you can do things you simply couldn't have before. Humans need each other. Souls need each other. Our interconnectedness is a key aspect to our evolution.

For those of you who this speaks to, this is what my first ever 3 month mentoring program will comprise of:

  • 1 hour private sessions with me (along with your angels + spirit guides) every 3 weeks. This equates to 5 sessions in total.

  • Two 30 minute 'emergency' phone call sessions. Your boyfriend breaks up with you, you're anxiety ridden for no reason, you have a big interview and you want to be as confident as possible... etc. Life happens. You can get me on the phone in these times within 15 minutes to 48 hours, depending on my travels. Usually it will be within the same day.

  • 24/7 email support. Email me with questions when you need a quick but of advice or tuning in. Your emails will have top priority over all others.

  • Gifts of the Spirit. When your angels knock on my head (how I describe the sensation when they want me to pay attention) and say 'This is for her!' - whether that be a book, a crystal, oracle cards, etc - I'll gift it to you and pop it in the mail! (Fun, hey?)

The cost of the program is $365 CAD / per month. I am totally confident you can make it work if you're really called to do this. The things we need the most have a way of working themselves out.

{To read testimonials from previous clients and beautiful souls, please visit this page}

Is this for you?

Yes, it's a commitment (albeit an awesome one), and yes, we need to be the right fit!

a5.jpg

That's why I'm offering free 30 minute sessions with me to decide if this is something you'd like to engage in.

Please email me at igniteyourtruth@gmail.com OR use the form below to book your session, and see if we're right for each other!

{Note: Please honour my value, and the fact that these sessions are a pretty awesome gift, so only book one if you're feeling like this program might be for you.}

Lots of love, and l'm looking forward to the journey with you!

You're Off the Hook ;) Just Focus on Fun! Happy New Years!

Tonight my wish for my spiritual sistas is that we all drop our expectations and perfectionist tendencies and just breathe, be, and have fun.

That we just experience. That we don't fret if our visions boards haven't been made, or that we didn't get that NYE run AND meditation in that we wanted to. That we let go of how we thought it should look, and simply revel in the feeling of what it is, deep down.

sparkles.jpg

To take advantage of this intention portal, all you have to do is feel the feelings that you'd like to experience in 2014. Even if just for a moment. Grateful? In love? Connected? Inspired? Engaged? Feel or breathe into a vision that sparks those core desired feelings within you. Feel them. Enjoy. Now, give them to the Universe. She's got them.

Next? Just focus on having fun. :)

It's a special night. The world feels jittery and excited all at once. People are delightfully nervous, full of anticipation and hope. There a sense that something bigger, more important, and truer is on the horizon. There's also a teeny little fearful voice that says 'Maybe this whole New Year, New You stuff is all hype and it will all go back to the way it was before.'

Don't fret my dear sisters. Life is always changing. And New Years, especially, is a powerful time of new beginnings. Your soul will take advantage of all that it needs to. You can't mess this up. Even if your ego says 'Uhhh yes I can!!', tell it to chillax to the max. You can't mess this up. ;) :D Life is a journey.

yaya.jpg

And just so you lovers are aware...

Astrology and energetic forecasts for the coming weeks do indeed forecast that 2014 will be a powerful time of opportunity, growth, and optimism. We've got a new moon in Capricorn on January 1st, which is a supermoon. We've got ANOTHER New moon in January on the 30th - which is ALSO a supermoon. Holy smokes. And that is just the beginning.

We've got lots of time, lots of faith, and lots of support.

Just have fun tonight dear ones.

You deserve it. :)

Mining for Gold: An Interview with Nisha Moodley

As many of you know, I've recently transitioned my web zone over from wavesoffire.ca + igniteyourtruth.blogspot.com, to one happy, centered, and aligned space - bethkatherine.com (wootwoot!). This means though, that the blog posts I wrote previous to November of this year (and theres a lot of them!) are getting left behind.

Well, that won't do! ;) :D

So I've decided to mine some of that work, looking for the gold - looking for what I want to highlight. The thoughts and words that still have as much relevance now as they did then (and maybe even more!).

This post was originally shared on February 26th, 2013 - it's an interview with Nisha Moodley, one of my ultimate sheroes. Nisha is a) A total genius, b) A total babe and c) A total cheerleader for all things woman.

She's a life coach for ambitious entrepreneurs and next generation thought leaders, who need help refining their message, rocking it in business, while having lots of play and down time to keep things balanced + luxurious.

Her ultimate message is that the world will be set free by women who are free.

Check out her website at www.fiercefabulousfree.com and make sure to sign up for her emails! They're that good.

What would your advice be to a young woman who is still in her "old life", yet wants to transition to a lifestyle that feels more authentic to her?

Photo of Nisha: Abi Q Photography

Your freedom is in the journey, not the destination. Instead of being frustrated at where you are, notice where you want to go and really, really savour all the little steps. There can be deep pleasure in the moment, if you're open to it.

Also, have amazing girlfriends that you give your full trust to.

Share the things you think and feel about yourself that you're ashamed or embarrassed about; you'll find that you're more connected than you think, and these women will serve as your cheerleaders, tear-driers and mirrors throughout your journey. Women thrive in sisterhood.

What was one of your biggest life changing experiences over the last few years?

Divorce. It was the worst thing I've endured in my adult life so far, and it definitely showed me that I'm stronger and more resilient than I gave myself credit for. It also showed me things about myself that I didn't want to acknowledge were there. Shadow and light. I was faced with it all, and thank goodness I had amazing friends to help see me through.

What is the secret to a sustainable business?

Having sustainable human beings running it, and a focus on being of service.

When we're not sustainable as individuals (healthy body, mind, bank account and relationships), we can easily fall into a what-can-I-get mindset.

When we're tending to ourselves as individuals - making sure that we're healthy and sustainable - we can really show up in service of others.

Who are your sheroes? (Women role models, girl crushes)

Moms (including mine) who know how to take care of themselves and their families. My clients -- I am totally awe-struck by the stand they're taking in the world, and their dedication to giving and growing. Every single one of my amazing girlfriends.

I have a 'toolbox' that helps me to feel grounded when I get off center - Meditation, Green Juice/Smoothies, Singing, Nature, etc. What's in your toolbox?

Sex. A glass of wine with a girlfriend. A shower. A long walk with some great music in my ears.

What is your future vision for your career? Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

In 5 years, I'll still be sharing my message of the importance of women's freedom, helping women thought leaders unblock the things in their life that keep them from living in full alignment with their vision and mission. The primary mediums for my work will be books, retreats and my mastermind.

I'll also have some mini humans to care for, and we'll trek around the world with them.

5 Ways to Instantly Up Your Mood

1. Take Vitamin D - Winter can be a beautiful time of coziness, inward expression, and warm times indoors. However all this indoor time usually results in less exposure to sunlight, and therefore, less exposure to the 'Happy Vitamin' - Vitamin D! We can circumvent this by supplementing. When I started on the Vitamin D about 3 weeks ago, I noticed an instant improvement in my mood.

Keep in mind, it's important to be taking a high quality source, as some forms of Vitamin D don't readily absorb into our system. To learn about your best options (like Cod Liver Oil + Liquid Drops), check out this post by Harmonic Arts. You'll also find out lots more (+ totally herbalist) information, on how to stay happy and healthy in the winter!

2. Put On Your Favourite Classical Music, Lie Down, and Breathe - Mine is the soundtrack from the movie Ever After, composed by George Fenton (who also created the music for Planet Earth). Classical music has an incredibly soothing and inspirational effect on our systems. Plenty of scientific research backs this up. The trick to this tip, however, is to lie down, while you're doing this, and breathe deeply in your belly. This will ease tension you've gathered in and around your Second Chakra, making it easier to relax and find joy in the simple things.

3. Spend at least 2 Hours Outside - Yes I said 2 hours. ;) :D Most of us are keenly aware of the magic that happens when we spend time outdoors, but often, especially in winter, our forays out into nature tend to be short lived. Challenge yourself by organizing an activity, either solo or with friends, that will motivate you to be outdoors for that long. Whether it's skiing, skating, garbage collecting on your favourite beach, or simply going for a hike, get your body and lungs breathing in that gorgeous air. You'll feel amazing!

4. Learn about Something You're Really, Really Interested In - When we spend time learning about what we love, something happens. Perhaps it connects us to past lives, our life missions, or even to a fond childhood memory. Either way, it's a pretty awesome feeling to get engrossed in new subject matter. My super love right now is learning about herbalism. I'm currently reading this book, loving it, and learning so much. I feel more purposeful, more powerful, when I sit down to engage my mind in what I love.

What about you? Does history tickle your fancy? Perhaps you'd like to learn about Ancient Egypt, the costumes, and the culture? Maybe it's nutrition. Or the lymphatic system. Or how waves are created in the ocean. It could be anything! Just get learning, it'll brighten your spirits!

5. Laugh - Simple? Yes. Obvious. Yes? How often to we make a point of it? Uhhhh.. Good Point. :)

Laughter is the best medicine ever. It instantly uplifts the spirits. But how we can laugh on cue? What can be funny when we're not feeling that great? Well dear, dear friends... I introduce you to the wonders of YouTube. There are some hilarious people on that beautiful website. My go to for laughter is Ellen, the girls gets me. I'm also a big fan of Kid President. Go searching. Find something hilarious. Spend an hour laughing. Your life will be WAY better, I promise! ;) :D

Pinspiration // A Crystal Love Affair

In the last few years, I've developed a beautiful passion for crystals. Feeling them, looking at them, touching them, wearing them, creating spaces with them. There's just something about stones that creates this mystical, otherworldly connection. I know many of you agree.

I read in one of Doreen Virtue's books that those who wear crystals do so because they have past lives in Atlantis. They wear stones so that others who were also there will recognize them.  ... It's so we can find each other.

Whether that's true or not, it tickles something inside of me. Crystals are a sea unto themselves, whose mysteries I am perfectly OK with not ever fully grasping.

Lots of love,

xo Beth

A Meditation to Get Clear on Your Hearts Goals for 2014

There's no doubt about it.

There's just something about New Years that makes us want to clean, switch our rooms around, get rid of old clothing in favour of our new finds, set goals, create intentions, and generally get stoked about the new reality we are creating for ourselves.

wolf.jpg

And really, it makes sense. But it makes even more sense from a metaphysical perspective.

The entire world is sharing in the collective energy that 'We can do it!' 'We can make changes! We can achieve our goals!'

The whole world is supporting our desire for something more.

Yet often times we can set goals or intentions for ourselves without even checking in to see if we want them fully.

Inevitably, when we find out our level of commitment isn't as deep as we thought is was, we lose conviction in our disciplines.

If the Why isn't there, and if the Why isn't deep, then the What quickly loses it's pull. (ex. Exercising to look hot in a bikini {surface level 'why'} vs Exercising to get happier and channel inspiration out into the world {heart aligned 'why'} )

When our intentions are aligned with our cores, however, when they come from the deepest space in our heart centers, and when they're aligned with our life missions, there is an inexhaustible fuel for our fires. Commitment becomes easy, because the effort often feels joyful and fun, even if it requires a certain amount of discipline. The path we've chosen is one of the heart.

So this year, I ask you to go deeper with your desires - I challenge you to quest into the space of your heart's desires.

This is an experiential process, best done in a space of meditation.

Here is a great exercise for you to become clear on your desires before the New Year hits. Please keep in mind that this is just one version of the activity. Feel free to change this exercise up in any way. For example, if it's too icy outside for your liking, but you feel really grounded when you're in a bath, then to this exercise there!

Go outside with a journal and a pen, and find a tree.

Go to a space where you'll be left relatively alone. A quiet nook in the park, a forest trail down a ravine, or even a spot in your backyard.

Sit down underneath the tree and breathe. As you do so, become conscious of your back touching the tree, and the way your spine is resting against it. Wiggle your toes and your fingers to help you get really in your body, and then ask Archangel Michael to stand by you and energize you for the duration of this session.

Now start to concentrate, again, on your breathe, and feel yourself breathing not only into your body, but into the trees body aswell. On the exhale, feel the release.

After a few cycles of doing this, put your awareness in your heart.

Ask it, 'Heart, what are your truest desires? What are the visions of my life purpose?'

Now keep breathing, and do your best to let go of expectations. You might not get anything back right away, you may see a visions in your mind's eye. You may hear words, or have an intuitive knowingness. You might even feel anxious, afraid that you're not doing it right, or you're not talented enough to get the answer. (Hold space for those voices, and move on, you can do this!)

Whatever you experience is completely perfect. Anything you experience is normal and natural.

After a few more breaths with the tree, ask again:

'Heart, what are your truest desires? What are the visions of my life purpose?'

Keep breathing, and keep grounding. Now get your pen and journal out and start writing whatever answers are coming up for you.

At the end of the session, you will likely be left with a strong intuitive imprint of what your heart would like more of in the next year. It might be anything from creating more community, to growing a flower garden. It might be as simple as 'breathe more' or 'slow down' or as specific as, 'make a documentary about plastic pollution'.

Finally, remember to thank the tree before you get up and leave. :)

Remember, no matter what you have in your journal, you asked a powerful question, and over the next few days, you will continue to get answers to it in all sorts of interesting ways. The key is to pay attention, and to keep asking if you feel like you need more information.

Once you feel like your heart has answered (and it always does) - use your deeper clarity to craft your New Years intentions, and they will guide you to a more heart driven, purposeful 2014.

Happy visioning!

xo Beth
